Durante a preparação para a soltura, os papagaios-de-peito-roxo aprendem a reconhecer e interagir com outros da mesma espécie. Como são vítimas do tráfico de animais silvestres, muitos deles passaram anos isolados, tendo o ser humano como única companhia social.
